What a beautiful picture of community, Gayle. These little communities exist all over the place. They’re so hopeful.

Yes! They're where we spend most of our lives, I think.

What an enjoyable, insightful piece!

I love the thoughtful quotes sprinkled in. This is a wonderful reminder that people can lead rich lives anywhere, with some simple help, interest, and kindness from (and towards) others.

β€œIt takes a village”, right? πŸ₯°

I’m having that catchy, beloved Sesame Street song loop in my head now,

β€œWho are the people in your neighborhood,

in your neighborhood,

in your neighborhood?

…

They’re the people that you meet

When you’re walking down the street

They’re the people that you meet each day!”

They sure do!

I feel a bit sad when I think of what folks miss by not being aware β€” not β€œ looking up”. They are so hopeful, as you say, Emily!

Yes it takes a village absolutely! And all the people β€œthat you meet when you’re walking down the street”, often add so much to our day, and brighten our mood. I love your reminder of that song and I’m glad you found the piece insightful. Sesame Street and Mr. Rogersβ€” so ahead of their time ❀️ Thanks, Jeanette!
